I am fine interacting with all as long as you do not direct hate towards me or are a communist, nazi, japanese nationalist, etc.

Introduction

Hello, I am Actovania, and I am the webmaster of this site. Sometimes go by Mirka, but I would prefer to be called my user-name online. I have a short introduction on the front page of this website, but it only covers the most basic of information necessary for knowing who I am and what sort of content will be on this website. This page will cover my thoughts and general information on things which I am interested in.

You are probably wondering: why is this page so much different from the rest of the site? For the homepage I really wanted something clean that reminded me of the Wii and DS, but here I wanted something where I could fill it with literally anything I wanted without consideration for how it would look in the long run.

I am a senior in high school, and I would like to go to college next year, but I have not taken any actions yet. As a person, I am admittedly quite terrible at keeping contact with people, and I hate talking and avoid it whenever possible. I hate my parents and I hate being alone. I am unemployed.

HTML and the Web

I don't actually have much experience with HTML, CSS, or any form of coding, despite taking classes on both web and game design. Both of these were a number of years ago, and I still do not remember a lot. About half a year ago I joined SpaceHey, a modern revival of the original MySpace networking site, and there I've been consistently active and involving myself in HTML once again. [but still, not very good...] Most of my learning right now comes from dead exposure and trial and error, which is maybe not the best medium, but it still works.
I have been exposed to the internet since long ago on my parents' Windows 2000 family computer, but my first foothold on the internet was the creation of my Minecraft and Club Penguin accounts, both in 2013. Later I created a Scratch account, where I created very short animations for fun. Scratch is a block-based educational programming site, and I joined there in 2014. In fact, my account and its content is still up, and I put up some of my old unpublished things recently.

Video Games

I have been playing video games since FOREVER and a ton of my good childhood memories come from playing video games. I was best friends with someone who lived several houses from mine, and he had a Wii, a Xbox 360, AND a Playstation 3. I haven't a clue how they had all three. I have a lot of great memories playing Mario Kart Wii, Lego Star Wars, Little Big Planet, and messing around with the Kinect.
I got a 3DS a few years after it came out, and I remember having a lot of fun with it, even though I didn't have many games. I played a lot of Mario Kart 7, and I loved using Streetpass and the Mii Plaza. In 2020 I modded my 3DS and Wii, but my 3DS broke not long after. My Wii, however, is still going strong and I use it to play Mario Kart Wii, Double Dash, and 64 when I feel like it.
I also have a DS lite, a Gameboy Advance, and a Gameboy Color. If you couldn't tell from my homepage, I love the 2000s era of Nintendo!

Nowadays, I have a Nintendo Switch and play a ton of games on it.
Mostly Splatoon 2 & 3, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and occasionally a few others, plus Minecraft. I would consider myself a huge Splatoon fan (I made the Splatoon buttons on my homepage lol), and a big Donkey Kong fan also. To be honest I rarely buy any new games, but I will get back at it soon enough. Right now I'm especially looking forward to TLOZ: Tears of the Kingdom, since I went crazy for Breath of the Wild. I'd like to play Miitopia, Pokemon Violet, and Pikmin too.
In terms of PC games, it's really just Valve. Garry's Mod, Portal 2 (+ Portal Stories: Mel!), and Counter Strike are what I play most frequently. I also play grand strategy games like Europa Universalis IV, and sometimes the Sims 4.

All in all, I love video games!

Spaceflight

I'm going to try to keep this short, since I really have a lot to say about spaceflight. Here I will only detail why I love spaceflight so much. All the info on past, current, and future events, and every bit that I adore can be found on my dedicated spaceflight page. The link to it can be found here as well as on the homepage.

Finding the origins of my adoration for spaceflight isn't completely simple, as there was no pin-point moment where my passion was born. Rather, there are a series of events that have built it over the years. Back in the 90s, when he first moved here, my father worked on lenses for the Chandra X-ray Observatory, whose mission continues to this day in 2023. I consider this a personal connection between my family and the American space program. In 2013, I first visited the Kennedy Space Center, two years after the end of the Shuttle program. Just after its exhibit opened, I got to see Space Shuttle Atlantis, which I consider my favorite Space Shuttle. Admittedly I don't remember watching any Space Shuttle launches, which is regretful. Again in 2016 my family visited the Kennedy Space Center, which I have photos from and remember well. In the United States alone I've also visited the New England Air Museum, the National Air and Space Museum, the United States Air Force Museum and the Kansas Cosmosphere. All of these visits were 5+ years ago, but are still important to me.
Whoever countrols the high ground of space controls the world.
